As an endurance athlete, training and competing for 35 years, I tried almost every energy gel and recovery bar on the market intended for sustained energy and recovery. I was never truly satisfied with what I ate and experienced, and in 2018 was inspired to create a real food snack that I could trust. I needed a snack that would fuel my workouts, provide fast recovery, and provide healthy nutrition for my family. Through my experiences training and racing, I knew that eating balanced meals of 50% carbohydrate, 25% protein, and 25% healthy fat was the optimal way to sustain energy and speed recovery throughout the day. With the help of my family and after many hours in the kitchen, we created the perfect 50-25-25 bite sized snack and accomplished our mission. We created “Yon Bons” using only healthy ingredients, with no preservatives, artificial sweeteners, or added sugars. As the coach of TRiYon Performance I began to share Yon Bons with my athletes and the response was overwhelming. Their testimonies quickly made us realize that we had a product we needed to share with many. With the help of a local Charlotte bakery we were able to increase our production and take Yon Bons to the market! We continue to work hard creating new flavors using only all natural and organic ingredients that promote a healthy lifestyle and improved athletic performance.
